Finding Good Fishing Spots
You already have some ideas on the kind of
Fishing Tackle suitable for you. Sensibly enough, you also need to find a place which is a good Fishing Spot. There are so many bodies of water in which you can go Fishing. But not all of them hold many fish. That is why you need all the patience and energy you have in looking for a place to fish.
Listed here are some things to consider:
- Find waters near you.
There seems to be an endless list of bodies of water for Fishing. But before getting engrossed to great and popular Fishing Spots, think about proximity. Concentrate on those which are considerably near your residence. Remember that fish are generally active during early mornings and late afternoons, so you need all the precious time you can get in order to have a successful catch. It would be much better if you can get to the Fishing Spot in less time so you have the rest of the day fishing.
- Go for small waters.
You do not have to go fishing in large bodies of water, at least, not yet. As a beginner, start on small ones. A relatively small Fishing Spot allows you to concentrate on more areas and easy navigation. On the other hand, do not go to the extreme of fishing in waters so small that you can easily leap to the other side of the water. If you can do this, then there is a likely chance that your
Fishing Line will also end up on the opposite bank after casting. Worse is, the sensitivity of fish is too great that they can sense shadows across the water and vibrations due to sudden movements.
- Beware of waters with easy access.
Since some waters are convenient and very accessible, so many people know about them. What happens is, fish in these waters are getting a lot of pressure from sudden disturbances such as heavy footfalls on the banks and various Fishing Lures and Fishing Baits that keep on getting in the water. Being extremely sensitive, fish are greatly affected by these activities of anglers. Too much fishing pressure can actually change the habits of fish- from finding food all day to being inactive throughout the day and moving at night. Likewise, fishing in easily accessed waters may not be able to give you anything worth-knowing about the fish and their habits, since too much fishing in the area will constantly scare the fish away.
- Make a phone call.
After many trips to places near you and you still do not have the slightest idea on where to go Fishing, get your phone and call your fish and game department. Most countries have government departments or offices that take charge in management of fisheries and enforcement of Fishing Rules and Regulations. It can give you not only the potential Fishing Spots, but also the dates of Fishing Seasons and the policies implemented in your area, such as getting a Fishing License.
It's all about patience, determination, and some sense in order to find the right place to fish. This stage is so important that even if you have a top-of-the-line Fishing Tackle and you are fishing on waters that are prohibited and/or do not hold many fish, you will still go home empty-handed.
