I jusat got back from Dana FOrt for fishing with 2 catches. being new
to fishing, I really dont have an idea what fish is this? At first I
was casting down the harbour w/out much luck caught a ray skate over
the weekend. Today i tried same thing but still no luck. But decided to
cast into the shallower end and was able to catch this fish.

That fish is a young sand bass, hope you will let it go coz they need
to be 12 inches long to keep. There are spotted Sand Bass in the same
area of the harbour that look similar with dark spots, I hope everybody
would throw back coz once they settle on the spot they stay until
somebody kills them. Then no more fish there then for some years and
because they feed heavily on razor clams they are full of mercury and
other heavy metals.

For me, whatever kind of fish is it, as long as its edible, eat it.

Yeah a sand bass. I love those fish. But it is too young. Let them grow before you catch again..LOL
