i plan to go fishing in an extremely cold river on my next vacation. do i need to bring anything special?

you didn't say where you're going so i can't give surefire advice. what i usually do though is i get the fish from the same river and cut em up for bait still depends on what kind of fish you want to catch (at least with me, cant speak for others)

they usually stay where the current is strong so be ready

i'm not saying this as a hard fact but based on my experience, i freeze my bait first (chicken live) so they're easier to handle and last longer

i do the bait freezing as well because it actually does last longer. and i also sometimes get the bait from the same river and cut them up.
