It's a matter of having a good vision or eyesight. Thats the absolute first thing to successful fly fishing for carp. So u need to use of good quality polarized sun glasses. In most cases when fly fishing for carp you already
see the fish you are trying to catch.

fly fishing is very simple when three things are right.... first, you must have a suitable rod.. second, you must get a line to match it... and third, you must learn correct casting technique....

There are basically two ways to fly fish for carp, sight casting and blind casting. Sight casting involves seeing the carp and then casting the fly. Blind casting can take on two forms. First is casting to places carp are likely to be and hope you are right. Second is casting in a spot where you know there's carp mainly because you have tossed some groundbait in the area.

Just go to your local shop and get some decent but not expensive type of gear. Your gear will depend upon the type of fish you want to hunt.
Inform the rep there that you are a beginner, ask about lessons and see if he knows anyone who can assist you in fly fishing. It would also help you if you will read a lot of stuff about fly fishing.
I learned fly fishing on my own and you can too.
