Fishing Disciplines - Float Fishing
Float Fishing is a style of angling that uses a tool called a float or a Bobber that is attached to the Fishing Line. Floats are buoyant, so when a float wobbles, glides or dives, it only indicates that a fish has taken the bait.
Floats have three main types. These are the ball, slip, and pencil. The rounded type is the ball, while the pear-shaped one is the slip. Pencil floats are elongated with a small hook on one end.
Aside from the float, you need, of course, a float rod, a Fishing Reel, Fishing Lines, and hooks. For the float rod, its strength must enable you to control your float, while its length must enable you to cast the line far off. The use of a Fishing Rod is highly recommended because of its extra length, maximum control, and added strength.
Open-faced Spinning Reels with front and rear drags, as well as the closed face Spinning Reel, are the main types of reel that you can use. For the Fishing Lines, it basically depends on the fish size of your intended catch. Your Fishing Lines must stand the strength of the fish you are going to catch. For the hooks, barbless hooks are recommended since these will not injure the fish and will not make removal difficult.
Before casting out, crank the line until the float almost reaches the tip of the rod. In swinging the Fishing Rod, make sure that the float and the line swing away behind you. Let the Fishing Line go to cast out the float rig. Allow the float to slowly enter the water. You can do this by gently tapping the rim of the spool. After which, the float rig should have already sunk while you wait for a fish to get hooked to your bait.
When a fish takes your bait, you will notice any of the above-mentioned movements. Always get ready to strike the fish. You can do this effectively by simply lifting the Fishing Rod in the opposite direction. Without too much effort, you'll be getting your intended amount of catch!
