	Lavictoire Wins Fishing League Event
	Thomas Lavictoire of Vermont won the Wal-Mart Bass Fishing League Empire Division event in 1000 Islands last weekend. Lavictoire got $4,359 and an additional $1,000 for being the top Ranger Cup participant. 	Resource Board Asks People to Stop Char Fishing
	The Gwich'in Renewable Resource Board is asking people to stop fishing in the Peel, Husky, and Rut rivers this season because of the 60 percent decline in the char population over the last five years. Five years ago, the char population was estimated to be about 12,000 in all three rivers. Just last year, it dropped to 3,500.
