The Darkhouse Spearfishing season in North Dakota kicks off on December 1 and ends on February 29. It is organized by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
The ice conditions for the event were predicted to be at their marginal best, although the January 1 event at Spiritwood Lake will be an exception.
Participants of the Darkhouse Spearfishing should register at the North Dakota Game and Fish Department. Registration can be accomplished at any Game and Fish department office or at its website: gf.nd.gov.
The Darkhouse Spearfishing is open to all residents with a valid fishing license, and to those who are under 16 years old.
