Fishing Apparel - Fishing Hats
Fishing Hats come in various types, depending on the features and what material they are made of. There is no standard type of hat for Fishing, just as long as you are well-protected from sun's rays and cold breeze.
Nonetheless, here are some examples of Fishing Hats that work in most, if not all, fishing conditions:
- A Fishing Hat which is an excellent choice for
Sun protection is a cotton baseball cap with a long visor. The visor obstructs sun's rays that can impair eyesight, and the cloth inside absorbs sweat. It is better to use a white cotton baseball cap because light colors do not absorb so much heat, giving you a cool feeling.
- You can also use a standard visor-size cotton ball cap with a hat band made of leather. You can adjust the size of the hat through a small leather belt with buckle. The brown visor blocks the sun's rays and it will keep your head warm while fishing in the morning and relaxed in the afternoon. Choose a plain green-colored ball cap when fishing in small streams so that you will not scare the fish you are after.
- On cold days, wearing a wool watch cap will keep your head warm. It is usually called a ski hat and its gray color matches the atmosphere in cold weather. You can also use this cap on windy days when you can pull it down over your ears when the breeze gives you the chill.
- Another style of Fishing Hat would be the billfisherman's cap. Aside from the very long visor which can definitely shield your eyes from the sun, it also has pull-down flaps which protect your whole face including your neck from the sun's rays. It is a good choice when Fishing in tropical waters since a billfisherman's cap has small holes that allow ventilation on your head.
Actually, it does not matter what type of hat you use, as long as it can protect your face, especially your eyes, from the sun's rays.
