Fishing Apparel - Hip Boots
Ordinary boots can be effective if you are fishing from a
Fishing Boat or when walking in shallow parts of rivers or lakes. But if you need to wade a bit further and deeper, wear Hip boots. They are a kind of boots that run up to the crotch part and held in place by straps looped around your waist. Hip boots allow you to comfortably wade in water that is around two feet deep. Thus, you can have access to parts that you cannot reach without Hip boots.
The bottoms of Hip boots usually have a heel, sole, and a shatterproof ankle area. In short, these kinds of hip boots are boot-footed. They are not that expensive, heavy, and bulky to carry. Hip boots are very suitable when fishing on small bodies of water such as streams.
Hip boots can be made from rubber, coated nylon, and coated canvas. Nowadays, manufacturers are using neoprene, stuff like foam which is strong, warm, flexible, and lightweight. The only problem with hip boots made of neoprene is that you will sweat on them.
There are numerous types of sole commercially available. Hip boots with rubber soles feel solid upon buying. But when you step on rocks topped with algae, you will lose your footing. Some are hip boots with studded soles which augment foothold. A more expensive hip boots are those that are felt-soled. Felt-soled hip boots work well in slippery streams.
When wading, you need to have a strong hold on slippery and algae-covered rocks. Likewise, you need to be comfortable when walking in water so make sure to wear the appropriate type of Hip boots that can serve these purposes.
